ActewAGL has naming right to the Royal Canberra Show and all printed material relating to the Show has the above logo printed on them, award cards and ribbons won by exhibitors at the show have ActewAGL on them thus keeping ActewAGL name in front of all visiting and participating in the Show. Corporate sponsorship of community events and charities is high in the scheme of things to ensure that the company is seen as a community supporter as well as provider of necessary services.

ActewAGL sponsors a Community Switch, information about things that are happening in and around the Canberra area. The Community Switch is maintained on radio station 104.7 Canberra's website. DJ's throughout the broadcasting day frequently mention events and say more details available at the ActewAGL Community Switch again keeping the ActewAGL name in public's mind and the community service they provide.

In March there seems to have been a launch by ActewAGL of a water conservation campaign which to many would seem strange considering the overabundance of rain Canberra received in February and continuing in March.
Does your grass have a drinking problem? Ad in The Canberra Times, 8 March 2012, pg 3.
Teach your Garden to sip, not guzzle. Ad in The Canberra Times, 3 March 2012, pg 2.
Observing the videos and limited print advertising I feel the advertising campaigns present serious topics about use of utilities in a light hearted manner as shown by the two above print advertisements and videos with cartoon cavemen in their "Heat and Ice Age" or the use of the classical music from the Sorcerer's Apprentice and and the play on the Disney cartoon movie Fantasia using crowds of real people carrying the 10 Lt buckets of water they save each day and dumping them into the Cotter Dam.
Last evening, 12 March 2012, on TV there was a video ad in the same context as the above two about water use in the garden. It contained real people and also animated plants. A couple of examples in the ad were a runner going under some trees and a tree branch grabbing the water bottle from the runners backpack and sucking out all the water and another a flower grabs a water hose nozzle and wraps its petals around it and sucks on it to get its fill of water.
The above ad is the back cover of a brochure that I received as an insert in The Canberra Times on 14 March 2012 entitled Something Special is Starting to Unfold 100 Canberra 1913-2013 The Centenary of Canberra Here's a Glimpse in Anticipation. The brochure is undated, but it seems safe to assume it is 2012 since the details provided were announced on Canberra day this year, and probably it should be attributed to the ACT Government Canberra 100 Project.
Another ActewAGL corporate sponsorship ad. This time on the back cover of the Canberra International Music Festival brochure. Item received in the Post. March 2012.
